Nursery News Letter

Autumn 1

WELCOME!

Hello and welcome to Nursery

In Nursery we have one teacher Mrs. Flanagan, and two Teaching Assistant’s to support Miss Farrimond and Miss. Dallimore

Key Worker

Your child will be allocated a Key Worker

(Mrs. Flanagan, Miss Farrimond or Miss Dallimore.)

The Key Worker is your point of contact if you have any worries or problems that you need to discuss with school.

The Key Worker will also be your child’s “special person” in school should they have any concerns.

The children are all taught by Mrs. Flanagan and Miss Dallimore in the morning and Mrs. Flanagan and Miss. Farrimond in the afternoon.

A list will be placed outside Nursery once the full list of children is finalised.

What will my child be doing?

Nursery education should be about children learning and discovering for themselves.

Our Nursery is about providing and supporting child centred learning experiences enabling the children to access all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum through the vehicles of play and focused lead activities.

The learning experiences are a balance between adult planned activities and activities that have directly arisen from observations of particular children's interests and motivation sources.

Lunches in Nursery

(a gentle reminder)

In Nursery we are very conscience about healthy eating and always try to have good nutritional snacks. With this in mind we would like to inform you about 1 child who has a nut allergy. With this in mind please can you try not to send in any foods that contain nuts for packed lunches. Thank you

Topics

Are topics this half term are Marvellous Me! And Autumn.

In September and October we will be learning all about autumn and we will be naming parts of our bodies, drawing, painting and modelling ourselves and talking about why we are special and what we can do.

We will also be singing counting sounds, and counting out objects.

How to help at home:-

  • Encourage your child to put on their own coats.
  • Sing nursery rhymes with your child.
  • Read stories to your child and ask them to join in with the bits they know.
  • Remind your child about washing their hands after using the toilet.
  • Let your child count the stairs when going to bed, make different marks with pens, pencils and tell you what they have drawn or written.

Thank you for your time.

Mrs C Flanagan
