Meet the Staff and Teachers at Hindley All Saints Primary School

Year 2 Teacher

My name is Mrs Miller and I teach in Year 2.

I have taught at All Saints for almost 19 years. I currently teach in Year 2. I like working with the children, especially doing lots of creative activities.

Year 5 Teacher

My name is Miss Curran and I teach Year 5.

My favourite thing to teach is music, and I lead the weekly singing assembly and also our school choir.

Year 1 Teacher

Hi, my name is Richard Houghton and I am the teacher in Year 1 and KS1 co-ordinator.

I have taught at both primary and secondary schools across Manchester and Wigan. I love teaching Infants as the children are bright, bubbly and enthusiastic. They are always eager to learn and it is a joy working with them. As a teacher, I especially enjoy teaching Science and D.T. Such subjects offer the chance to develop our learning alongside improving upon our practical hands on skills. I also feel it is important to extend our learning outside of the classroom with visits to places of interest and enjoyment.

Y4 Teacher

Hi, my name is Mrs Haigh and I teach in Year 4.

I love teaching Literacy and in Year 4 we are often transported to different times and places through the magical power of books! I like to make learning fun by doing lots of practical activities both inside the classroom and outside whenever we can.

Y3 Teacher

My name is Mr. Halton and I teach Year 3.

The subject that I like to teach most is maths. I love all things about numbers! I also like science, poetry and music. I like to write songs and in Year 5 we love to sing! I recently learned to ride a horse which was something that I have wanted to do since I was little. I like to watch football and also walking my dog, Penny. I like finding out new things and like it when Year 3 think of really good questions to try and answer!

Year 6 Teacher

My name is Mrs Simmons and I teach Year 6.

I love reading and my favourite subject to teach is Literacy. I feel that children learn best when they are actively involved in their own learning and so this is a teaching strategy I use in all subjects and topics we cover. I have two boys of my own who are 7 and 11 and when I'm not driving them to their football matches, I am learning to ballroom dance [but with two left feet at the moment!]
